Specializing in the treatment and cure of Strabismus, "Lazy Eye," Amblyopia, Learning-Related Vision Problems, and Sports Vision Enhancement

Dr. Damon B. White, OD, FCOVD,
Visual Skills Specialist

Learning & Vision

We provide diagnosis and treatment of dysfunctions in visual skills that are not evaluated in regular eye examinations.

Learning-related vision problems, for instance, are deficiencies in visual functions which are needed to achieve maximum potential in school and sports. A few of these visual skills are eye teaming coordination, tracking efficiency, ability for sustained focus and speed, visual motor integration, and visual processing capability including interpreting, remembering, and comprehending visual information.

Purpose of This Website

Unlike typical websites which exist to generate business, the express purpose of this site is to provide an internet-based means of finding us for individuals and families who are already looking for us.

The limited scope of information that is on this site is due to the same factors that have kept us from launching a website since we started this clinic years ago, namely that God has clearly blessed this business in that we have from very early on been too busy producing results and changing lives to have the inclination, need, or desire to invest in, establish, or maintain a website.

Due to many patients and families sharing their frustration because of difficulty and delay in finding us when they have been looking for us on the internet, we have established this limited internet presence. Ours is a specialty referral practice. We have no intention of expanding this website as we do not advertise our services.

About Dr. White

Dr. Damon White, a native of Oklahoma, is a hospital residency trained, board-certified Optometric Physician. His undergraduate degree was a Bachelors of Science with Emphasis in Cellular Biology. His doctorate degree was earned at NSUCO through a four year doctoral program. While relatively rare for Optometric Physicians, after obtaining his doctorate he completed a one year hospital-based residency at Hastings Hospital.

Dr. White maintains one of only a handful of practices in the nation that are devoted solely to the diagnosis and treatment of binocular disorders and learning-related vision problems. To say that Dr. White does not just dabble in this area of medicine would be an understatement. Unlike the tendency for professionals to state that they specialize in an area of medicine when in reality it is simply one of many types of care that they provide, for the last two decades Dr. White has done nothing but diagnose, treat, and cure binocular problems and does so full time. He works exclusively in the realm of treating and curing issues that the brain has in utilizing the two eyes together and processing visual information. By request he performs examinations and provides treatment of visual skill disorders for patients referred by general eye doctors, pediatricians, general practitioners, ear/nose/throat doctors, neurologists, neuropsychologists, psychometrists, counselors, psychologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and teachers. Many referrals to Dr. White are word of mouth. Since we have never advertised our services, the professionals who now refer patients to Dr. White actually began their pattern of referral only after seeing the results of his work in their own patients.  Therefore, even the referrals to Dr. White by professionals are really because of word of mouth. Many of these professionals who now refer were slow to begin doing so because of their knowledge of similar sounding services that do not work.

Dr. White routinely diagnoses and treats over 40 different treatable deficiencies in visual skills which can impact anything from academic and sports performance to driving safety, general quality of life, and in some cases cause headaches or dizziness. The problems treated by Dr. White have nothing to do with glasses. Since Dr. White provides no general eye care and instead focuses solely on the role the brain plays in vision, he leaves general eye care to the general eye doctors. Dr. White has dedicated his career to helping children and adults who struggle with poor visual skills and improving their lives through his unique treatment.
